Me
I'm currently studying at San Jose State University and I'm hoping attending classes will improve my programming abilities, and if not then I already use my free time to learn on my own. Games have a been a large part of my life since my cousin bought me a PS1 and I've been fascinated with how they work ever since. I summarize myself in this four word phrase: Making Games, Playing Games. And if I must, a bit of sarcasm and wit on the side!
What is a neoxid501?
A lot of people ask where I came up with the name, so I guess I should start there. "Neo" reminds of the Crash Bandicoot series of games, specifically the villain named Neo Cortex. "XID" in all caps looks like a face and that's all there is really to that, plus I think it sounds cool.
There was a point where it was just NEOXID but I wanted to add a number to make if feel serialized and I initially made it NEOXID500. Admittedly, 501 just sounded better and "501" is a reference to the 501st Legion of Clone Troopers and they're awesome.
There's also a bit of leniency in how to say it, I even switch it up now and again. Nee-Ox-id, Nee-Oak-Sid, Nee-Oak-Id, all work but I usually say Nee-Oak-Sid if you really want an answer.

Where did the logo come from?
The origin of the logo is pretty funny. In High School I took a communications class and one of the assignments was a project where we had to come up with a brand and product to sell, then make a campaign marketing it. Naturally I came up with a logo and while I had an idea for it I wasn't much of an artist then and I'm still not an artist now.
The old one looks so... edgy but not in a good way. When it came time to come up with a logo to publish under I went back to it because I liked what I was going for. The same overall layout is still there, it's just more curvy and made with much more love!
It wasn't until much more recently until I decided to start using adding the "TM" to the top right. I have been using it since 2015, more officially in 2017, and finally decided in 2019 to have a more formal declaration but I think at this point I've established as my brand and logo. Maybe in 2021 I'll have it registered!

The white gradient behind the logo is there just to the "TM" is visible.
