Based off of what Kotaku reported as "the Swedish Military's recruiting game," Concept Sync is a 2-4 player cooperative mini-game rush where each player's health points are based off of how well your partners are playing. The original idea for this game stems from the original Concept Sync: a group of players must cooperate to complete a task and if any of the them falter, the entire team loses. However the main inspiration for the mechanics of the game came from watching Team Unity play a board game in Tabletop Simulator called "The Mind."
Concept Sync Up is a sequel (there's actually a small 2 that's at the corner of the logo) that builds on this idea by tearing it down. The mechanic has been boiled down to "count up" while leveraging the natural chaos and synergy that comes from conversation, communication, and a timer ticking down!
Using a seed as a way of getting around a lack of networking came to me as an idea when Professor James "rubaiyat" Morgan first mentioned the idea of a "Zoom Game Jam." I think it's an interesting way of having an offline game that you can play online! Sort of like setting up a board a game!
Chaos mode of course is directly inspired by the original Concept Sync, where a player must complete a task for the benefit of another player. I feel like during play testing this really helped enforce a "work as a team" mindset while also making for some really fun laughs at people fumbling with the simple mini-games or math problems because of the tension.
